Actual conversation between me and my 8 year old kid, during her first encounter with Internet Explorer 7 (i.e., twenty seconds after the final reboot after me upgrading her laptop):
"Where are the sites I went to today?"
"You mean history?"
"Yeah. It's not where it usually is."
"I know. Just click on the star."
"No, that's favorites."
"History's there too."
"Oh. Yeah."
(Twenty seconds later)
"So where are the sites I went to today?"
"Click on the little arrow next to history."
"Where? ... Oh. Okay."
So am I lucky enough to be aiding in the rearing of a very smart girl, or is the whining over Internet Explorer's new interface just a little bit overblown?
Personally, I think both.
